Baby shower for Brady

After the walk in Riverside, I went to a baby shower honoring our coming grandson Brady, and his mother Krista. Since we were blessed with such nice weather, the event was held outside at Krista's parents' house, with many women in attendance.
The centerpiece was this cute idea!
The two brothers will be riding side by side!
Krista and her mother Penny
Jayden decided that he needed to try some cake...
I think we all enjoyed watching him eat his cake more on that day, than on his birthday!
After the cake, he wanted to spend some time in the rice box. We had such a fun weekend with our older boys and their families. We are so blessed!

March for the children

Last Saturday, Marilyn joined Bec and her girls in the March of Dimes event held in Riverside. Since we didn't know the way things happened at these events, we arrived bright and early to register. We discovered later, that we could have slept in a bit longer and come an hour later...but, who knew?
This little girl was ready to go on the walk! Several people even asked if she was going to walk the path...no, she rode comfortably in the stroller, and even had a little nap!
Baby sister was snuggly warm in her stroller, and did very well for her first big outing!
Snacks were plentiful, both from mommy's stash, and the volunteers along the way.
B's friends joined us on the walk. It was fun to be with them and hear their story also. K kept all of us busy (esp. S as he had to back-track and look for the shoe that K kicked off soon after we left the starting line.) Later down the trail, the other shoe got kicked off...fortunately, K and I were ahead of the group so they were able to find it quickly. Needless to say, the shoes were not worn again until the little feet were on the ground, and not in the stroller!
The path for the "march" took us thru many areas of Riverside--residential (close to several garage sales that B took advantage of), parts of downtown, and also the parks area.
It was a perfect day for the walk and this park area was beautiful. We heard that the event also did well in raising funds for the March of Dimes. It was interesting to hear the stories of so many families that have been affected like ours--with miracle babies. It was a very enjoyable way to start the day!

GK Moments

This past weekend we were able to enjoy time together with our older boys and their families. It meant precious moments together with K...
and looking at E's sweet little face...
Of course, mom and dad had her dressed appropriately for NFL draft weekend!
We also enjoyed some artichokes together at M&B's house.
Then off to J&K's house for the night, where we spent a few hours with this fun little boy before he went to bed!
J found his dad's slippers and loved showing us how adeptly his little feet controlled those big "puppies."
J was also in the draft mode, as he is already practicing his "touchdown" stance!
We love watching our grandkids growing up and treasure each moment we can have with them.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Tonight we went on a date to the Twins-Angels baseball game. We were given the tickets by a friend of ours from church, and had very good seats, in the "club" section. Since we were the only TC fans in our entire section, we felt a bit odd, but we did cheer for our team appropriately!

I love the unique style of the Angels Stadium. (Notice that proud Twins fan surrounded by those Angel symbols?)

The fireworks went off during the singing of the National Anthem. (They also shoot them off when the Angels score a home run...so sad, none of that happening tonight!)
We got to see Joe Mauer in action tonight
There were almost 40,000 fans in attendance at tonight's game.
The happy Twins fans after a win of 10-1!!!

A Blessed Easter

We are so blessed this Easter to have held little Emily in our arms. To look at her and realize the miracle that she is, has been overwhelming at times. We praise and thank our risen Lord for the life of this precious little girl.
We certainly have a new understanding of all the time and effort that goes into the care of Em.

Her last weight (Friday), was 7# 6oz. Coming home to her family has been a good thing!
Look at her sweet little face!
All dressed up in her Easter outfit.
Daddy's turn at feeding.

Just a little comparison...
Big sister is a very busy girl these days.
It was so much fun to watch her find the eggs hidden in the back yard
A little help from mom
I found another one!
We had a wonderful time together with M&B and their family.
Then we got to spend some time with our grandson (staying overnight at his other grandparents home, so his parents could have some R&R before baby brother is born).
It is so fun to hear him talking now, putting several words together and using his imagination as he plays. It is hard to believe that only two years ago he was just a newborn!
We are so happy that we can have these times together with our grandchildren and enjoy watching them grow up. Time goes by so fast. We thank God for all that He is doing and will continue to do in the lives of our sons and their families. We miss having our two younger boys so far away, but love to hear how God is using them in the places that they live and work.
Happy Easter to all!
