More centers of attention!

Jayden helped Grampa blow out the candles on the delicious lemon pie, made special for his birthday!
Our weekend is most complete when we can talk to all our sons and catch up on their lives, and when we can also see our dear grandchildren. We are so blessed to be living close enough so that we can see these little boys and their girl cousins frequently. We thank God for enriching our lives with these little ones and pray that their parents will have much patience and godly wisdom as they raise them.

Centers of Attention

Em is now smiling and cooing; her little voice is growing stronger!
This little one is constantly on the go now! And she is a climber!

Angels Baseball

A month ago, Chuck called and asked if we wanted to go with them to an Angels baseball game, since he had 4 free tickets. So we donned our Angels team gear and enjoyed an evening together, cheering for the red! Unfortunately, our team did not win...
Thanks Chuck and Penny for a delightful visit. We had so many laughs together and such good fellowship. We are so gald that we live close enough so that we can have these fun get-togethers!

One week ago

Last Sunday was my final day of a fun wedding weekend in MN. After church, we went to Fargo to R&S's house so we could see them open some of their wedding gifts. My folks just love Sara's "girls", and apparently the dogs really love being around them also!
The newlyweds

I feel so blessed to have been able to be back with my family for those few days. We pray God's blessing on our newly married nephew and also my neice who was married a month ago. May God bless these new homes as they are established, and may He be the center of the life they build together.

Applesauce & Toast

On Sunday morning, before going to church, my folks had guests for breakfast. My brother and his wife and their daughter and husband drove to town from their lake cabin. Mother served her homemade applesauce (from the apple tree in her backyard) and her delicious homemade bread. Wonderful!!!
Thanks for the visit R&G, A&L. It was great to spend another few hours together with you before we headed west again.

R&S wedding & reception

Our family was together
Brother Rayn & Glenda
The reception room was beautifully decorated.
Niece Laura with husband Adam (newlyweds!)
The ceremony was held in this tent
Her parents walked the bride down the isle
The bridal party faced the audience
The pastor's wedding meditation was on serving. To illustrate her point, she handed the couple tennis rackets and talked about the "serve" in the game of marriage. Her text was from John 13:3-5 where Jesus washed the feet of His disciples just before He went to the cross to die. I had never thought of that as a text for a wedding before, but it certainly fits well, as we are called to had a servant attitude in our marriage relationships.
Our wishes for a lifetime of love and happiness, Rick & Sara!
