Happy Father's Day

I am so blessed to have godly parents--and on this special day, I celebrate my father.
My father has always been an example of strength and good character; a hard worker and a faithful provider for our family. His love of laughter and music have always been an inspiration to me. And his love of God's Word and the hope of heaven have blessed me with an inheritance that is more wonderful than anything that money could buy. I love you, Dad. Happy Father's Day.
I also honor my dear husband, the father of our four wonderful sons. Thank you for being the godly example that you are for our children. And now as they begin their own families, may they emulate your example in continuing to daily look to their Heavenly Father for wisdom, strength and guidance.
I love you Jim, Happy Father's Day

A&R wedding

The wedding reception was held in this beautiful Arboratum. The Jacaranda trees were in full bloom, continuing the purple tones that we saw at the wedding celebration.
Guests were treated to hors d'oeuvres in several little coves in that area of the park while the wedding party took pictures in a different area.

Peacocks were in abandance throughout the park. These kids had so much fun watching the birds strutting around.

Supper was delicious, including a roasted pig!
Youngest brother Tommy passed the evening absorbed in Calvin and Hobbes!
Friend Dorothy caught the bridal bouquet!

A&R Wedding

stitched in love

A week ago, my cousin and her family were here for the celebration of their son's wedding. Cheryl is a quilter and she has been hand-stitching a quilt for her son and his bride. There still is some work to do, but she had finished the top of the beautiful quilt and we got to see it at this stage!
On Friday evening, we traveled to Pasadena for the wedding rehersal and also to help with any details that we could.
The decorations were simple and elegant.

to a dear friend

Yesterday morning, we received word that a dear friend of ours had gone to be with Jesus. Jan loved the Lord and personified Him in her life. She was such a caring and generous woman and we will miss her so much. She was a valiant fighter, and she really struggled to breathe those last weeks of her life. I well remember the day that we went to visit her in the hospital. There she lay in that hospital bed, with tubes eminating from every angle of her frail body, and machines surrounding her, With closed eyes, she whispered, "How's [...] doing? I've been praying so often for her since I heard the news of her sroke." And that was Jan, always concerned for others! Pray for her husband, three children and 2 grandsons as they adjust to this loss. Blessed be her memory.
