Our first grandchild turned four today! (But we celebrated his birthday on Saturday.) He loves doughnuts, so his party was a "Cars" Doughnut Birthday Party!
His cake was a huge doughnut.
Being the social butterfly that he is, he wanted all his friends to come to help him celebrate.
And celebrate we did! First, the kids started out with cars stamping kits.
It was very serious business, and took alot of concentration.
Then they decorated mini-doughnuts with frosting and sprinkles.
Again, very serious business!
Next, came the presents...
Then came the birthday cake...
...with the four crazy candles!
And J's special treat was a visit by Mr Doughnut Man himself!
Just some extra pics of the party day...
These two did not appreciate the rainy day, and looked longingly at the playground equipment and toys outside.
After the guests left, J was able to enjoy some of his new toys.
Little brother decided that this suitcase made a great "car."
Enjoying Playdoh
His own personal race car
Since Uncle M had worked nights and was asleep while the birthday party was held, he came by later to give J his gift: a remote control patrol car.
That was one well-packaged vehicle! It actually took three adults to get the car out of the box! Meanwhile, this guy was very patient.
But look at that delightful smile!
Good thing that mom and dad had not moved the furniture back into the living room yet! The boys had so much fun with that car!
We ended the day of celebration with a family meal at J's choice of restaurants: "Old Spaghetti Factory"
We even got to sit in the "train car" booths, J's special request.
Happy Birthday, big guy! We love you so much!
