We love the times that we spend with our friends from church at different kinds of outings! Just before school started, the youth group leaders planned an afternoon at the beach. The weather was lovely, and we had a great time together!
Some of the kids went swimming, some even went surfing. Jim and I enjoyed a walk on the beach. Later, someone built a fire to take the chill off the evening air...and of course to roast hotdogs, corn on the cob, and marshmellows.
The cloud formations were very interesting...like an arrows pointing toward the setting sun. Only God can do that!

We had a very successful "work day" at church last month, and one of the perks for those who participated was a free ticket to the next Angels Baseball game!
This gal is a DEVOTED Angel fan! We, on the other hand, have never been great baseball fans, but since moving here we have attended many games. We still consider it a rather boring and slow-moving sport, but we have loved being together with family and friends at these events, and will certainly miss those times when the season soon comes to an end. But then, I guess we just wait until next year rolls around. (BTW, we are most definitely MN Twins fans, but when they are not in town, we wear and cheer for the Red Team!)
Unfortunately, our team lost the game that night, but we were still treated to a great and totally awesome Friday night fireworks show.
This year, I was again able to attend the Women of Faith conference. As always, I appreciated the wit and wisdom of Luci Swindoll and Sheila Walsh.
I also really enjoyed the touching and thought-provoking skills of dramatist Nicole Johnson. She truly has the gift of communication with her word pictures.
I loved spending the days of the conference with two of my co-workers!
The first two weeks of September, we entertained two little dogs. This was the "begging" sight that greeted me each day when I came home from work! We do miss the little critters, as they forced us to walk every day...now we try hard to keep up that activity "sans cheins."
A couple of weeks ago, a valued member of our worship team left for a new ministry in a different state. We have so appreciated the musical talent and spiritual insight that this young man has brought to our lives, and to so many people of different ages at our church.
We miss you Jeremy! We're thankful that you made it safely to your destination, and we're so thankful for your ministy here at Calvary. God's blessings on your next endeavors.
