At Roche Harbor

Our next port of call was Roche Harbor. This pretty little chapel was one of the first buildings that we saw as we docked the boat.
Hotel de Haro is the original building that housed so many guests years ago.
We entered the town through this lovely pathway.
We felt almost as if we had stepped back in time!
A view of the harbor from up above
Beautiful hanging baskets of flowers, lush green grass and trees
New housing developments that are made to look old
Checking out the view and dreaming...
And this was the view...not bad, huh?
This island was filled with history. It used to be one of the major producers of limestone, and this is one of the remaining kilns from that era.
The generator used to crush the limestone rocks
 Limestone
The ruins of the base of several kilns
We did alot of walking on this island. This was one of the sculpture parks that we explored. This lovely whale replica can be purchased for a mere $38,000!
Puzzling

Another park that we visited further up the hill.
A fun little scooter-car that we wished we had rented (but, actually we really needed the exercise that we got for all our walking!)
That evening we had another delicious meal
And later, just as the sun was setting...
...we attended a special ceremony: the retiring of the colors.
 Our beloved stars and stripes
 Sunset over the marina
Later that evening, we gathered in that little chapel for a time of fellowship. It was a perfect place to end a lovely day.
